THE Tube strike planned for one of the busiest shopping days of the year will go ahead, after an eleventh-hour legal bid to stop it failed.
London Underground had tried to get an injunction from the High Court to stop members of the Aslef union walking out for 24 hours from 12.01am on Boxing Day (December 26).
All Tube services will be affected but London Underground has said it will operate a service on all lines which were scheduled to run.
On the Central line, a limited service is planned between Hainault and Ealing Broadway.
The union wants its members to be paid triple their usual rate for working Boxing Day, as well as an extra day off in lieu.
Tube bosses had claimed that the official notification of the strike from the union was not worded properly, and was therefore invalid, but the High Court ruled in favour of the union.
