RESIDENTS are being asked for their views on the future of transport in the region.
Essex County Council has launched a consultation on the subject as part of its attempt to come up with a Local Transport Plan in the new year.
The strategic document will outline proposals for roads, cycle lanes, public transport and other related services.
The council's cabinet member for highways and transportation, Cllr Norman Hume, said: “Investment in transport is very important to our residents and the success of the Essex economy.
“However, at a time when there is limited funding available for services across the county council, we need to make difficult decisions on how we prioritise expenditure.
"This consultation is an excellent opportunity for residents to tell us more about their needs for transport and what they believe the priorities of the new Local Transport Plan should be.”

The consultation closes on Friday February 11.
