A SCHOOL has applied to build a 22 metre long canopy in its playground to provide shelter for pupils.
Oakdale Infants, in Woodville Road, South Woodford, has asked Redbridge Council for permission for the structure, which will be five metres wide and made from PVC coated polyester.
Headteacher Hillary Hunwicks said it would give shelter to parents and pupils and provide shade during hot weather.
The application will be considered by the council in the new year.
