A MAN has been arrested after a crash that killed a 69-year-old yesterday.
Five people were still in hospital this morning following the four-vehicle crash, which happened on the A12 at Ilford, outside Newbury Park Underground station at about 4pm yesterday.
A 69-year-old man, who was a passenger in one of the cars, was pronounced dead at the scene. He has not yet been formally identified, but his next of kind have been informed.
The female driver of the car and another male passenger, both in their 60s, were taken to an east London hospital, where their condition is described as stable.
Two women and a man, all in their 20s, were also taken to hospital.
A man in his 20s has been arrested on suspicion of causing death by dangerous driving and bailed until May.
