A CAMPAIGNER dedicated to exploring deaths in custody will visit the borough later this month.
Deborah Coles, co-director of the legal charity Inquest, will speak at a meeting of the Redbridge Equalities and Community Council on January 18.
Inquest offers advice and support to bereaved people, particularly those affected by deaths in custody, as well as lobbying MPs, supporting family campaigns and identifying trends in contentious deaths.
The equalities and community council has expressed its concern over the case of former Ilford resident and refugee Jimmy Mubenga, who died in custody while being deported to Angola in October last year.
The meeting will take place in the small hall at Gants Hill United Reformed Church, in Woodford Avenue. Doors open at 7pm and the meeting will start at 7.30pm.
