A MAN was stabbed while he tried to stop three men from burgling his home.
The victim, aged 32, woke at 4.30am on Monday January 3, to find three men inside his house on Marlborough Road, Chingford.
He approached and challenged them and a struggle followed, during which the man was stabbed several times.
Despite being injured he chased the burglars out of the house and saw them get into a car parked in the road.
They drove off towards the Chingford Road junction, but it is not known which turning they took.
The man returned to his house and called the police and the London Ambulance Service.
He was taken to hospital, but has since been discharged. He is due to be interviewed today.
Police said the vehicle the suspects used, a black Mazda 6TS, registration number YY55 SGX, was stolen two days earlier from the Edmonton area. They are still looking for it.
The three suspects are described as black, aged between 20 and 30. All wore dark clothing. One had stubble.
No arrests have been made.
