POLICE have named the man killed in a car crash outside a Tube station.
The dead man was named as 69-year-old Dusan Daniolvic, of Cromer Road in Romford.
He died following the incident in Eastern Avenue in Ilford, outside Newbury Park station, at around 3.55pm on January 1. He was pronounced dead at the scene.
A post-mortem held at East Ham Mortuary yesterday (Tuesday, January 4) found he died from severe chest injuries.
Mr Daniolvic was a passenger in a green Citroen Picasso at the time of the crash and two other people travelling with him – a 61-year-old woman driver and a male passenger, thought to be in his 60s – were also taken to hospital.
The driver has since been discharged and the passenger is in a stable condition.
Two women and a man, all in their 20s, were travelling in a blue Ford Focus also involved in the crash, and are currently in hospital in a stable condition.
A date for an inquest into Mr Daniolvic'z death has not yet been set.
Police arrested a 26-year-old man on suspicion of causing death by dangerous driving. He was later bailed to return to police in May.
Officers from the Road Death Investigation Unit at Chadwell Heath Traffic Garage are still appealing for information about the crash.
They are particularly interested in speaking to people in a dark-coloured car which was travelling behind the Citroen, and was turning towards the Tube station.
Anyone with information about the crash should call police on 020 8597 4874.
