THERE will be a chance to see a rare bird at a country park later this month.
The Lee Valley Regional Park conservation team will be holding a guided walk in Waltham Abbey, to try and spot the bittern, a bird that lives in reed beds and is one of the UK's rarest birds.
About a tenth of the country's bitterns spend the winter in the Lee Valley and numbers have been boosted by conservationists.
The guided walk will start at Fishers Green car park, off Stubbins Hall Lane, at 3.30pm on Sunday, January 16.
