AN ACCIDENT is causing delays on the M25 this afternoon, after a vehicle hit a central reservation near where an earlier accident occurred this morning.

Reports say traffic is at a standstill on the eastbound side of the motorway between junction 26 (Waltham Abbey) and junction 27 (Theydon Bois), after an accident involving a lorry and a car at around 2.30pm.

The crash occurred just a short distance from where recovery work is taking place following an earlier accident involving another lorry, between junction 26 and junction 25 (Enfield).

One lane of the motorway is still closed.
