A STRING of violent incidents has been revealed at a bar linked to a mass brawl.
Documents on the Crystal Lounge in Loughton High Road have been released ahead of a review of its licence on January 17.
They show that police have been called there 15 times since February 2010.
Eleven of the incidents were violent, with one alleged assault leaving a man unconscious outside the bar with some of his teeth broken off.
A mass brawl on the street outside the club in November, which led to six people being seriously injured and six arrests, triggered Loughton police inspector Tom Simons to call for the licence review.
Reports said at the time that at least 80 people had been involved in the fight, but Insp Simons said in his report that the figure was closer to 150.
The unrest started with a fight between a group of white men and a group of Asian men inside the bar, according to the police report that will go before the hearing.
The report says: “As the bar closed, there were approximately 150 people directed onto the High Road.
“There was a fight on the green area close to the Crystal Lounge.
“Another large group of males began fighting close to Mayflower's taxi. A male was unconscious on the floor.”
One victim had a bottle smashed over his head and suffered a broken cheekbone and another needed surgery on his mouth.
Details are also revealed in the report of a fight involving 20 people, some with knives, at the club on December 10, when two women aged 18 and 19 were arrested.
A woman also suffered a cut nose after being hit by a flying glass during a fight earlier in December.
Dozens of people living near the bar have called for it to be closed or have its opening hours cut from its current closing time of 2am to midnight.
One nearby resident, Judith Woodman, said: “I frequently return from the centre of London late at night and cross the High Road by Brown's Garage.
“I can see the rowdy crowd at the Crystal Lounge and make sure I get into Forest Road quickly.”
The district council's licensing committee will decide whether the club can keep its licence and any changes to its opening hours.
