A COMMUNITY football coach for Leyton Orient who is accused of attacking a woman and her son has denied he travelled to their neighbourhood looking for a fight.
Yacine Rabia, 25, of James Lane, Leyton, is alleged to have broken the arm of Anne Marie Shinkwin and smashed the nose of Daryl Reilly during a confrontation in Dagenham back in March.
Mr Rabia, who trains Leyton Orient's under-13 youth team and also works with troubled youths in the borough, said he drove from Leyton to Ms Shinkwin's home in order to try and diffuse a row between her and his fiancée.
Snaresbrook Crown Court today heard that Ms Shinkwin sent a text to Mr Rabia just before the alleged assault saying "my boys are waiting for you".
Mr Rabia replied back stating "you're not the only one who can get boys", jurors were told.
But Mr Rabia insists he was trying to calm the situation and that Ms Shinkwin had refused to talk to him over the phone.
He denies causing grievous bodily harm with intent and causing actual bodily harm.
The case continues.
