POLICE say they are chasing up new leads in the case of a woman who keeps leaving animal mess on the doorstep of a Walthamstow home.
The suspect has been regularly targeting the house in Mansfield Road, off Palmerston Road, since January.
A spokeswoman said that following the publication of CCTV images in the Guardian last month new information about the woman's possible identity has been received and officers are investigating further.
However no arrests have been made.
The homeowner victim, a teacher who has lived in the property since 1983, became so upset by the harassment, she installed a secret CCTV system last year in an attempt to catch her tormentor.
The camera soon recorded footage showing a middle-aged woman approaching the house with a plastic bag. She then empties the contents onto the doorstep and calmly walks away.
The 57-year-old victim, who owns a number of dogs and cats, has no idea why she is being harassed.
It is believed that the suspect has not struck again since the story featured in the Guardian.
Anyone who can help the police investigation is urged to contact Detective Constable Paul Durrant on 020 3276 0969 or High Street Safer Neighbourhoods Team on 020 8721 2035.
