Road reopened following the crash involving a police car
A MECHANIC has suffered injuries to his head and arm after a crash in Walthamstow.
The man was driving a marked police car when it collided with a lorry under the Waterworks roundabout on the A406, on the border of Walthamstow and Woodford.
He was initially treated by paramedics at the scene, but has since been taken to hospital.
No one else was injured in the collision.
The A406 was closed, but the eastbound carriageway has now reopened and is moving. However the westbound carriageway has considerable delays.
There is severe congestion in the surrounding areas.
Police are carrying out enquiries into the reason for the collision.
