A MAN who was spotted by police wheeling a bicycle down a road with a cycle stand and lock still attached to it has denied handling stolen goods.
Gary Fitch, 26, of Larch Road in Leyton, was arrested when he was seen by officers from Grove Green Safer Neighbourhoods Team (SNT) in Leyton High Road on Tuesday September 28.
It was later discovered that a cycle stand and bike outside nearby Leyton Tube station was missing.
He has pleaded not guilty to one charge of handling stolen goods.
Mr Fitch will now go on trial next Monday (January 17) at Waltham Forest Magistrates' Court.
