POLICE have renewed an appeal for witnesses to a series of assaults which ended in a man being stabbed 15 times.

The 30-year-old eastern European was discovered with multiple slash wounds to his back, legs and abdomen at around 5.40am on Friday December 17 in Hollow Ponds, Leytonstone.

However he did not suffer any serious injuries and was released from hospital the same day.

Officers believe he was first attacked in Walthamstow and then driven to Hollow Ponds.

Detectives believe witnesses to the first assault could hold the key to cracking the case.

Police say they are keen to speak to anyone who may have seen a gang of men in and around Lennox Road and Colchester Road, Walthamstow, between 4.30am and 5am that day.

A spokeswoman said: "The group are alleged to have assaulted another male and police are very keen to speak to anyone who may have seen this group.

"Anyone with information should contact Detective Constable Paul Tyler at Waltham Forest Police on 0203 276 0947."
