A GRANDFATHER has denied causing the death of his own wife and a motorcyclist in a road crash.
Reginald James Moulton, of Greensted Road, Loughton, who is known as Jim, is accused of two counts of causing death by careless driving in relation to a crash at Stanford Rivers.
The 78-year-old was driving a Mitsubishi Pajero when it was in collision with a motorcycle at the junction of London Road and Shonks Mill Road on August 16 2009.
The motorcyclist, 45-year-old Denroy Dixon, from Harlow and Mr Moulton's wife Maureen, 72, who was in the back of the car, both died at the scene.
Mr Moulton pleaded not guilty to both counts of causing death by careless driving at Chelmsford Crown Court yesterday (Monday).
His trial has been scheduled for June 1, also at Chelmsford Crown Court.
