POLICE have announced this evening that they are now treating the death of a man in a basement flat as murder - as officers reveal a second person has been arrested.
It comes after a 27-year-old Polish student was found dead in a house in Wallwood Road, Leytonstone, at 4.15pm on Wednesday.
Newly released results of a post mortem have revealed he died as a result of head, neck and facial injuries.
A 26-year-old man is still in police custody after being arrested in connection with the death in Devon on Wednesday.
Police have revealed that earlier today a 20-year-old woman was also arrested in Leicester in connection with the death.
She is currently in custody at an east London police station.
Both suspects have not been charged.
The victim, who lived in Mafeking Road, Tottenham, has not been formally identified and not all next of kin have been informed.
