CROCK HELL full-back Jonathan Woodgate faces having his wages cut to nil, in a fresh blow for the striken Spurs defender.
Manager Harry Redknapp has mooted a pay-as-you-play deal for him, which as he has played just three times in 20 months, means Woodgate could soon be dipping into his savings.
"You can’t have a boy who doesn’t play all year and you keep paying his wages," fumed Redknapp.
"He needs to stay here and see how he goes and if he’s OK, he can sit down at the end of the season and we’ll give him a new deal for next year.
"It would have to be heavily loaded, though.
"I love Jonathan and when he’s fit, he’s a top, top centre-half, but it would have to be a pay-as-you play deal."
