SOLAR panels and better home insulation are just some of the ways of cutting energy consumption on the agenda at an upcoming meeting.
The third session in the Transition Town Initiative in Wanstead will teach residents practical ways of reducing how much energy they use, in order to lower their carbon footprint.
The initiative was launched last year with a screening of the film 'The Age of Stupid', starring the late Peter Postlethwaite, which highlights the environmental cost of rising energy consumption.
Organiser Paul Donovan, of Dangan Road, said: “After the first two meetings that focused on film and discussion, this next meeting is very much about the hands-on practicality of daily life.
“It offers the chance to come and learn more about how we can all live more sustainably and make a difference to the environment and our local community.”
The meeting will be at 7.30pm on Wednesday, February 23, at Wanstead House, 21 The Green.
