TOTTENHAM winger Aaron Lennon never believed the team were going to succumb to their sixth Premier League defeat of the season before he struck to rescue a point at Newcastle United on Saturday.
Lennon scored in the second minute of added time to save Spurs from defeat but Chelsea's win at Bolton yesterday (Monday) means that Totttenham are now three points off a Champions League qualifying spot.
Lennon said: “We always believed we could get back into it and you see right at the end, we were still going forward and creating chances, we even got in good positions after the goal.
“We always believe we can score with the players we've got, the individuals here. It was a hard game. I thought we played well, especially in the first half and we just needed a goal, but Newcastle scored first and made it difficult for us."
