A TEENAGER has been arrested on suspicion of murdering a 17-year-old who was run over and killed by a bus.
Ezekiel Amosu was hit by the double-decker in Forest Road, Walthamstow, just after 7pm on Monday (January 24).
Police are investigating reports that Ezekiel was confronted by a gang of robbers in the area only moments before.
The suspect, a 15-year-old, was seized by officers in Walthamstow late last night and remains in custody at an east London police station.
A post mortem conducted yesterday evening into Ezekiel's death concluded he died as a result of crush injuries.
Police are still appealing for witnesses to what happened at the scene, which is close to the junction with Pembar Avenue near Blackhorse Road station.
Detective Chief Inspector John Sandlin who is leading the investigation, said: "What happened exactly is unclear at this stage but we believe that Ezekiel may have been the victim of an attempted robbery minutes beforehand.
"The area would have been quite busy with people at that time of night and I would urge anyone with information to call police as soon possible."
The bus was an out of service 123 heading west towards a depot in Tottenham.
Anyone who believes that they can help is urged to contact the incident room on 020 8345 3865 or Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555 111.
