THE Standard Music Venue in Walthamstow will see a return to its comedy roots in March when it hosts stand-up Mark Thomas for a Fire Brigade Union (FBU) fund-raiser.
The benefit, held to raise money for the union's London members following their battle with bosses over new shift patterns, will be on Wednesday March 23.
The Standard, in Blackhorse Road, used to regularly host comedy gigs in the 1980s when it was re-opened as an entertainment venue.
Mr Thomas, who is known for his political satire-based comedy, will be supported by fellow comic Ian Saville, along with Steve White and the Protest Family.
Tickets cost £10 and are available from Walthamstow Folk Club or online at www.wegottickets.com/event/107234
