RESIDENTS have just two weeks left to have their say on the future of transport in the region.

Essex County Council's consultation on the subject is being held as it starts to draw up a new strategy for what to spend its £100million travel budget on.

The Local Transport Plan, when published later this year, will outline proposals for roads, cycle lanes, public transport and other related services.

Cllr Norman Hume, cabinet member for highways and transportation, said: “Investment in transport is very important to our residents and to the success of the Essex economy.

“However, at a time when there is limited funding available for services across the county council, we need to make difficult decisions on how we prioritise expenditure.

"This consultation is an excellent opportunity for residents to tell us more about their needs for transport and what they believe the priorities of the new Local Transport Plan should be.”

The consultation closes on Friday, February 11.
