SINGING students will be part of a record-breaking attempt next week.
The group from Epping Forest College, Loughton, will accompany their singing with sign language on February 9, while an estimated 50,000 children across the country do the same.
They will try to break the world record for the most people singing and signing at the same time, which is currently just over 13,000 people.
The record attempt, dubbed Sign to Sing, will raise money for the charity Sign Health, which aims to improve deaf people's access to healthcare.
The charity's chief executive, Steve Powell, said: “More than 400 schools have already signed up and we’re delighted Epping Forest College is taking part in the event too.”
