A DRUNK teenager was raped by a man after sharing a taxi home from a party.
Jonothan Dicks struck up a conversation with the 19-year-old victim while she was out with friends in Walthamstow on July 18 last year.
The 28-year-old, of Byron Road, Leyton, then accompanied the group to a party in Tottenham.
Later that night Dicks told his victim he lived in Walthamstow and they decided to share a taxi home.
But during the journey he became aggressive and, on arriving at her home, he insisted on walking the teenager to the door.
He invited himself in, despite the victim repeatedly asking him to leave.
He then raped her.
Dicks was identified two days later using DNA evidence and arrested.
Last month a jury unanimously found him guilty and he was sentenced to 10 years in prison for rape and four years for assault, to run concurrently.
Judge Louise Kamil at Snaresbrook Crown Court ordered that Dicks be jailed indefinitely to protect the public.
Detective Constable Dolores Connolly of the Sapphire Command led the investigation.
She said: "This was a violent and traumatic rape where the victim has been singled out by the suspect while she was intoxicated.
“He has a history of violence towards women and the sentence in this case is representative of the danger he poses to the public.”
