POLICE are investigating claims of a sexual assault in the early hours of this morning (Tuesday).
A woman in her early 20s said she was assaulted in the grounds of Loughton Cricket Club, near the junction of Trapps Hill and the High Road, at about 2.30am.
Specialist officers from Essex Police are speaking to the woman to get a detailed account of what happened and the scene has been cordoned off.
Anyone who saw anything unusual in the area at the time should telephone Loughton CID on 0300 3334444.
