Ex-Lambchop guitarist William Tyler plays the North Star pub in Leytonstone on Friday (April 8).
Mr Tyler, who hails from Nashville, is touring to mark the release of his new solo album.
The show is organised by promoters What's Cookin' who say that he “experiments with the boundaries of acoustic guitar, at times incorporating bits of sampled noise, hiss and drone into his compositions, at others anchoring his playing in a countrified tradition of slide and swing.”
Nice.
Support comes from blues Yorkshireman Michael Chapman.
The gig starts at 8pm and entry is free, although donations for the acts are welcome.
On Saturday (April 9) the pub again hosts another What's Cookin' night, this time fronted by noisy garage rock duo Cowbell, who are starting to get some serious airplay on BBC 6 Music. One to watch out for.
There's also music by the Tonebrokers, who play blues and gospel.
The gig is also from 8pm and entry is free.
Blue Harbour play Loughton Folk Club on Thursday (April 7).

The Capris play Ye Olde Rose and Crown pub in Walthamstow on Friday (April 8).

Then on Sunday (April 10) Americana duo Dana and Susan Robinson play Walthamstow Folk Club's night at the pub.
Described as modern-day Woody Guthries, this pair play sparse and elegant tunes on a variety of instruments including the banjo, guitar and fiddle.
It costs £6 admission, or £5 for concessions.
The show begins at 7.30pm.
Waltham Abbey Folk Club hosts a jam Singaround night on Monday (April 11).
