DETAILS have emerged of a horrific attack in which hooded burglars assaulted a man in his own home.
Two men forced their way in to the home in Grosvenor Road, Loughton, on Wednesday, March 30, at about 9.15pm.
They punched and kicked the 57-year-old occupant, who was alone in the house at the time, before stealing his wallet and watch, which were worth hundreds of pounds. The man managed to fight his way free and called the police before the unarmed assailants escaped on foot.
The victim was taken to a nearby hospital suffering from cuts and bruises where he was treated and released.
Both suspects are described as being of medium build, black origin and approximately 5 feet 10 inches tall. They are believed to be under 30 years old and were wearing hooded jumpers. One man had an Indian accent.
Loughton CID is appealing for information from members of the public who were in the area at the time or who noticed anything suspicious nearby.
Anyone with information should contact PC Bob Amery or Detective Sergeant Caroline Williams at Loughton CID on 0300 333 4444 extension 313151.
