SHOP staff dressed for bed instead of for work this weekend to raise more than £1,000 for an important charity.
Staff at around 20 shops and businesses in Epping High Street donned their pyjamas for work on Saturday (April 2) to raise cash for Cancer Research.
Elsewhere in the street people of all ages enjoyed an Easter egg decorating competition, face painting, and lots of children’s characters in colourful costumes.
The event was organised by 16-year-old Kelly Harvey – who works at her parent’s shop Party Plus in the High Street – as her mum Teresa, 43, is currently battling cancer.
Miss Harvey, from Broxbourne in Hertfordshire, said: “We raised £1,104 on the day, it went really well. Everyone really enjoyed themselves.
“People got into the swing of things in the High Street. Some people even decided to have a bit of a dance off outside one of the shops.
A group of 18-year-old lads and some eight-year-old girls decided who see who had the better street dance moves, it was really funny.
“It was really successful and I’m hoping to organise the same thing again next year.”
