POLICE are offering a £50,000 reward for information following the shooting of a five-year-old girl and a 35-year-old man.

Redbridge schoolgirl Thusha Kamaleswaran, pictured, was shot in the chest at a food and wine store owned by her aunt and uncle in Stockwell Road, Lambeth.

The youngster was in the shop with her mum Sharmila, her 12-year-old brother and three-year-old sister when she was caught in the crossfire.

A group of youths opened fire after chasing two other teenagers inside at around 9.15pm on Tuesday, March 29.

Roshan Selvakumar, 35, was shot in the face but both victims are in a stable condition.

One of the two youngsters who were the intended targets has since surrendered himself to police Meanwhile, it has emerged that one of the four suspects arrested in connection with the shooting was stabbed the day before he was arrested.

Police insist the attack on the 17-year-old was not related to the shootings. He remains in custody.

Mrs Kamaleswaran, of Tomswood Hill in Hainault, said: “As any mother, I have deep love for all my children and what has happened to my daughter Thusha has left me feeling empty inside.

“I ask for any person who knows about those responsible for this to come forward and speak to the police.”

Kazeem Kolawole, 18, from Lambeth and Anthony McCalla, 19, from Streatham, have been charged with two counts of attempted murder and will appear at the Old Bailey on June 10.

A 14-year-old boy has also been arrested on suspicion of attempted murder.

The reward will be given to anyone who provides information which leads to the arrest and successful conviction of those responsible for the shooting.
