A SCHOOL has been praised as outstanding by inspectors.

Chingford Hall Primary School in Burnside Avenue was achieved the highest rating in 30 out of 31 assessment categories.

The school was criticised for its leadership and standards of teaching in 2007.

But the latest Ofsted report said: “The tenacious and talented leadership of the headteacher and her senior team have ensured that standards have risen sharply since the time of the last inspection and are now significantly above average."

Headteacher Pat Davies, who joined the school in 2007, said the improvements have come through better planning and changes to learning techniques.

“We have a fantastic team of staff who have really worked hard to make these changes,” she said.
