GARDENERS are preparing to open their gates in aid of a new organ for an iconic church.
About 10 gardens will open on June 19 in aid of a replacement for the current organ, parts of which date back to 1873 and which is beyond repair.
Among the gardens opening for the day will be the Waltham Abbey Rectory, where visitors can buy afternoon tea from 3pm.
Tickets cost £5 each and will be available from the front desk at Waltham Abbey Church on the day or from the parish office in advance by calling 01992 767897.
