A PUBGOER escaped with minor injuries when he was stabbed as he walked down an alleyway.
The 43-year-old was attacked by a gang as he walked next to the Bell pub in High Road, Leytonstone, at around 9.45pm on Friday (April 8).
Police are unsure what weapon was used, but say a metal pole covered in blood was found nearby.
The man was with a 41-year-old friend, who was also assaulted, receiving a small cut to his shoulder.
The stabbed man was slashed in his torso, but the wound was described as minor by police.
The attackers were a group of teenagers aged between 16 and 19.
They were a mix of white, black and Asian youths and were about five foot seven to five foot ten tall.
Police say it is thought they might have been from a nearby estate.
Both victims were taken to Whipps Cross Hospital but were later discharged.
Officers have been unable to establish a motive for the attack.
No arrests have been made.
