DAFFODILS were in the spotlight at a show on Saturday.
The judging of the Southern Dafodil Championship took place during the Buckhurst Hill Horticultural Society’s Spring Show at St John’s Church in the High Road.
Society chairwoman Maureen Briggs said there had been a high standard of entries for the championship as well as for the many other sections of the show.
“It was a lovely touch of Spring,” she said. “We had home-made cakes and tea and other plants as well, and floral art and photography competitions.
“This year was not as cold as last year, so we didn’t have quite as many daffodil exhibitors, but the ones we did have were excellent.
“On the whole, it was a very good day.”
