A CULTURE festival due to be held later this year has been awarded another grant.
Organisers of the Woodford Festival, which is due to be held in October, have been granted £1,265 by the Redbridge Arts Council towards the £13,000 cost of the event.
They have also been promised £5,000 from Redbridge Council towards the festival, which will include performances by orchestras and choirs as well as talks on history and art.
Anny Wortley-Millek, one of the festival's organisers, said: “This generous grant will go a long way to cover the costs of this ever-growing, popular community festival.”
The events already lined up for this year, many of which will be free, include a performance of Handel's Israel in Egypt, a discussion on reading as a teenager and a concert by Woodford Symphony Orchestra.
More details of the programme will be available on the website www.woodfordfestival.org.uk nearer the time.
