A NURSERY celebrated the opening of a new room over the weekend after receiving a council grant worth £24,000.
Whitelily Nursery in Friday Hill West, Chingford, which cares for children aged between three months and five years, opened Fuchsia playroom on Saturday with Waltham Forest Council’s officer for children's services, Eve Loughlin.
The money also funded new play equipment in the garden for the children and disabled children can access the majority of the building via a specially-built lift system.
“It is great that we now have another room to cater for the needs of all our children,” said manager Francesca Oliver, 60.
“We can’t wait for them all to use and enjoy it with us.”
The nursery caters for up to 73 children a day and has been open since 2006.
