THE latest wave of council cuts - which include the axing of 128 jobs - were approved at a cabinet meeting last night.
Despite protests from campaigners outside Waltham Forest Town Hall prior to the meeting, all proposals were rubber stamped.
They included the reduction of up to 70 posts in youth services and 17 jobs in adult social care, along with the loss of half of the 14 wardens who support elderly people in sheltered housing.
The council admits that vulnerable people will bear the brunt of this latest round of cuts - which are officially described as phases four and seven of its reorganisation plans.
The authority insists it has tried to limit the impact but says it has been left with little choice what to do due to an unprecedented reduction in central Government funding.
The council estimates it must save £65million over the next four years.
All other cabinet agenda items were also approved at the meeting.
