A THRILL-seeking pensioner will make a 110ft descent down an iconic landmark at the end of the month.
Retired policeman Harold Blissett, 75, of Nevill Way, Loughton, will abseil down the Church Langley water tower in Harlow on April 30 in aid of Cancer Research UK.
“I’m not nervous at all,” he said. “In 2001 I was doing office work for a security company and saw an advert for an abseil down Walthamstow Town Hall, so I did that.
“It was 40ft, which was great, but I thought that was a bit tame.”
He will take part in his next abseil as part of his Freemasons’ lodge, along with the master of the lodge, his brother and daughter.
Anyone wishing to sponsor him can email harbarlights@hotmail.com.
