WALTHAM Abbey Folk Club are celebrating the seasonal period with an evening dedicated to music on the theme of Easter and St George.

It's on the Bank Holiday Monday (April 25) at the Royal British Legion HQ in Brooker Road.

Entry is a very reasonable £1.50p and doors open at 8.30pm.

Kickstarter, The Nostalgics, The Third Wave and The Basics play the Standard Music Venue in Walthamstow on Thursday (April 21).

Entry to the gig, in Blackhorse Lane, is £6, or £5 with a band flyer.

Doors open around 8.30pm.

Indie pop cockney trio The Wideboy Generation headline the Standard on Friday night (April 22). Entry is £7 and doors are at around 8pm.

Then on Saturday (April 23) it's the turn of tribute act Limehouse Lizzy. Tickets cost £12 and it opens around 8pm.

Singer-songwriter Simon Oliver plays Loughton Folk Club on Thursday (April 21).

Entry is £3 on the doors, which open at 8pm.

The gig is at the Loughton Club in Station Road. There's a £1 discount for club members.

The North Star in Leytonstone is having a bit of an Easter break, but next Thursday (April 28) promoters What's Cookin' host a performance there by pub rock favourites Ducks Deluxe.

The recently reformed 70s band are known for their up-tempo, energetic shows.

Support comes from Ducks-influenced Graham Larkbey and the Escape Committee.

Admission is free but donations for the acts are welcome.

The music kicks off from 8pm.
