TWO generations of carers helped staff celebrate the birthday of a support service.
One of the branch’s first clients, Joan Maddison, 88, whose daughter, Gillian Lee, 48, now receives support from the service, met with current staff of Crossroads Carer's Epping and Harlow Branch on Friday, April 15, for the 25th anniversary of their opening.
The branch, which is based in the United Reform Church in Lindsay Street, Epping, has been providing respite services for carers since 1986.
Centre manager Muriel Clarke said: “It was lovely to see everyone and was quite overwhelming to see our first client, Joan.
“Mrs Maddison’s daughter is now a carer herself and receives support from us. It was amazing to see how we have been an important part of the lives of two generations.”
