A 19-YEAR-OLD man has been convicted following a fatal shooting in a tower block.
Maurece Lewis, of Haslemere Road in Ilford, was found guilty of assisting an offender at the Old Bailey yesterday (April 19).
Mohammed Ali, also 19, from Forest Gate was found guilty of manslaughter and possession of a firearm at the same hearing.
The pair were charged after 21-year-old Mahamoud Jama was shot dead last January.
Officers found Jama lying on the first-floor landing of Whyteville House in Studley Road, Forest Gate, having been shot in the chest.
Detectives believe that a row between two groups of youths had taken place on a former garage forecourt in Studley Road, before continuing inside Whyteville House.
A date has not yet been set for the pair to be sentenced.
