POLICE are hunting a gang that attacked a group of teenagers in an attempted robbery.

An 18-year-old man was hit over the head with a plank of wood during the attack, which happened in Borders Lane, Loughton.

It happened at about 1am on February 13, but police have only released the details this week, as they have not made any progress in tracking the gang responsible.

The youth who hit the teenager over the head with a piece of wood is described as being white, between 16 and 20, 5ft 9ins tall, with short, brown hair and was wearing a red jacket.

Another member of the group is described as being about the same age and was also white, with blonde hair. He was carrying a stick.

There were three other white men in the gang, who were thought to be of a similar age and height to the first two.
