A COUPLE have been jailed after they robbed a man of his mobile phone in Walthamstow.
Andrew Warren, 47, and Denise Tague, 32, have been sentenced to six and four years respectively following the theft in Fulbourne Road, Walthamstow.
The pair grabbed their victim's device as he walked down the street at around 1.50am on Sunday July 18 last year.
Warren, of Brunel Road, Walthamstow, and Tague, of Fulbourne Road, Walthamstow, were sentenced at Snaresbrook Crown Court last week following a "lengthy" investigation by Waltham Forest CID.
Police superintendent Adrian Hutchinson said: “This complex investigation and the significant custodial sentence that followed demonstrates the importance that the criminal justice system places on dealing with robbery victims and those that choose to offend.“
The Guardian is awaiting further information about the case from Waltham Forest Police.
