A seven-year-old girl prevented a burglary in her home after being woken up by the thief.
At around 2am on Wednesday (April 20), it is believed the thief scaled an eight foot garden wall outside Massdan House in Markhouse Road, Walthamstow and managed to climbed through a window on the ground floor.
Awoken by the suspect entering the premises, the child alerted her father causing the man to flee back through the window.
As the father called the police, the man who is described as aged between 40 and 50 years old and wearing dark clothing, left the property empty handed.
Waltham forest Police is warning residents to ensure all doors and windows are securely locked at night, particularly ground floor windows, especially during the spell of warm weather.
