IT might be overlooked by those excited about the Royal Wedding next week but one pub manager has not forgotten it is St George’s Day today.
Stephen O’Halloran, manager of The George pub in High Road, South Woodford, is celebrating our patron saint’s day with traditions like morris dancing and an all-day barbecue.
Local band Soul Beat will perform live from 6pm, followed by the Chingford Morris Men at 7pm before the music continues.
“They’ll be wearing the traditional red, yellow and green when they dance and it should be great fun to get involved in,” said Mr O’Halloran.
“Hopefully we’ll get a good turnout as it’s a great way to get the community together and get everyone celebrating.”
