WILLIAM and Kate said ‘I do’ a day early today (Thursday) in a miniature version of the Royal Wedding.

The Queen, Prince Philip and the head of royal security were all represented during the ceremony at All Saints’ Church in Epping Upland, which was conducted by the Rev Bryony Morrison.

Epping Upland Primary School pupils Charlie Levick, eight, and Jessica Bull, five, announced their ‘engagement’ at the beginning of the month and pupils, teachers and parents have been working since then to organise the wedding and reception.

The wedding attracted the attention of the world’s media, with American TV channel ABC News filming the event for a programme about how Brits are celebrating the Royal Wedding.

Deputy head-teacher Cathy Newland said: “Everybody was dressed up to the nines. They had to come to school all dressed as guests, the bridesmaids had their hair professionally done and the church was decorated.

“I think it gave the children more of an interest in (the Royal Wedding). Hopefully, we will be able to compare favourably with it.”

The children will spend some time next week making a scrap book of the day, which they will send to William and Kate.
