A DRUG smuggler led a lavish lifestyle inspired by James Bond, which he funded by selling more than £3 million of cocaine, a court has heard.

His role was uncovered after police in Devon pulled over the BMW being driven by a member of his gang and found £250,000 worth of cocaine in a parcel disguised as a present.

Timothy Eastgate, 31, of Oakhill Crescent, Woodford Green, was the gang’s leader and was found guilty on Tuesday at Exeter Crown Court of conspiracy to supply cocaine.

He pleaded guilty to posessing a handgun, silencer and amunition at an earlier hearing.

After he was arrested in September last year, police found that he owned yachts, including one named Shaken Not Stirred, as well as houses in Spain, Dubai and Bulgaria, expensive cars, a country home in Norfolk and a box at the O2 Arena in London.

They also found an x-ray machine and suitcases full of cocaine at his home.

He will return to court for sentencing along with six others at a later date.
