A 10-MONTH-OLD from Woodford Green is set to make a big splash for charity with a sponsored underwater swim.
Riley Freeman, will join other youngsters at the Splashathon event in Stratford, this Saturday (July 23).
The swim has been organised by toddlers’ swimming group, Water Babies to raise money for the Tommy’s baby charity fund.
Riley’s mum, Anna Freeman, said: “Riley’s been swimming since he was four months old.
“He took to it straight away, and absolutely loves being underwater.
“We go to swim with Water Babies every week and if it’s ever shut, I have to make sure he gets to go to another pool, because he misses it if he doesn’t go swimming.”
Tommy’s carries out research into the causes and prevention of miscarriage, still birth and premature birth. They also provide an information service on health in pregnancy.
Mrs Freeman added: “It’s a really important cause.
“I have a few friends who’ve had a miscarriage, so it’s great to feel that we’re doing something to help.
“The fact that Riley’s going to be raising the money is great, because it’s a baby helping other babies.”
