WALTHAM Forest, Redbridge and Epping Forest district experienced a night of calm following three nights of violent disorder across London.
Several shops across the region closed early yesterday amid concerns of a repeat of previous nights of violence and vandalism.
But there were no reports of major incidents last night.
A bus was damaged near Whipps Cross University Hospital in Leytonstone.
Walthamstow MP, Stella Creasy, tweeted that she met Waltham Forest Borough Commander Steve Wisbey to discuss the issue.
She said there had been no disturbances, fires or riots in Walthamstow.
In Chingford, residents reported seeing a lot of police officers on patrol and at least six police vans were seen in Station Road, which had been hit by looting in the early hours of Monday morning.
The Defenders of Chingford, a group of residents who vowed to protect the public and property from looters, patrolled streets during the night.
Messages posted on the group site reported various sightings of police on patrol, but no disturbances.
Elsewhere in London, there were pockets of disturbances in Canning Town, Harlesden and Eltham.
There were also problems in other major cities.
The number of police officers in London were increased from 6,000 to 16,000.
A total of 768 people have been arrested and 167 charged with offences.
