A PUB in Woodford Green is aiming to smash a national charity record.
The Castle Harvester in the High Road, Woodford Green, wants to break the national record for funds raised in a year for the Make-A-Wish Foundation, which currently stands at £50,000.
In the last six years the pub has raised over £150,000 for the charity, which seeks to grant the wishes of children with life-threatening conditions.
Greg Harris, manager of the Castle Harvester, said: “We’re urging our guests to help us beat the fundraising record we set last year. We’ve worked with Make-A-Wish to provide the special star badges for which we’re asking people to donate £1. This will help us make a real difference to children and young people across the country.”
Karen England, Make-A-Wish Foundation® UK’s Director of Fundraising, added: “We are looking forward to seeing Harvester break their previous fundraising record through the sale of the badges as well as through their imaginative fundraising events.”
The pub will also be holding a series of special fundraising events over August.
